About Hout Bay
Welcome to Hout Bay!
Hout Bay is an incredible feat of nature – with its mountains, forests, beaches and spectacular scenery, it’s no wonder it’s known as the “Jewel of the Cape”. At its center is the bustling harbour – a great place to go for a stroll, buy fresh fish from that days’ catch, or simply enjoying the scenery. The harbour also offers many boat trips, game fishing excursions, sunset cruises or trips to Seal Island – and entire rocky outcrop covered in seals!
If you’d like to enjoy a more cultural experience, there is a fascinating township tour at Imizamu Yethu that will give you a firsthand experience about the township life, while also enjoying the warm and friendly people that make it their home.
Within a few minutes of the cottages, you’ll also find pristine beaches (Hout Bay, Sandy Bay and Llandudno beach), the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive and many other activities. Nature lovers, sports-enthusiasts, sun-soakers; there’s something for everyone in Hout Bay! And, once you’ve worked up an appetite, there are many restaurants on offer – from cosmopolitan cuisine to tasty takeout.
